This is the start of my mock. I have chosen fragmented as my key topic for this exam i have chosen this because some of my year 10 and early year 11 work has been somewhat linked to the subject.
fragment
verb
past tense: fragmented; past participle: fragmented/fraɡˈmɛnt/ break or cause to break into fragments.
"Lough Erne fragmented into a series of lakes"
What is a synonym for fragmented?
fragmented (adjective as in broken) Strongest matches. busted collapsed cracked crumbled crushed damaged defective demolished destroyed fractured injured mangled mutilated ruptured severed shattered smashed splintered.
Above are my initial thoughts around the theme of fragmentation. I am going to research a couple of artists and to gain more insight,
Jurgita Remeikyte
The 2 images above are made by a person called Jurgita Remeikye. In the first image i can see the same persons face on both walls looking at each other with different facial expressions. The photos are in black and white and all in symmetry. All of the portraits are at eye level and quite big in size
Marylin Henrion
The 2 images above are made by a person called Marilyn Henrion. In the First image i can see a builing being chopped up into random strips and assembled in different order to create collages. The same goes for the image on the right but, with this image there is an assortment of colours (red, orange, yellow, green and blue).
Abigail Reynolds
I will be attempting to try to respond to Abigail Reynolds work but instead of using building and nature i will be usin portraits of myself.
David Seidner
The photos above are made by David Seidner. In these photos he uses a technique called fragmenting this is cutting up a photo and rearranging them to make a completely different photograph. I am going to respond to this photographer by making my own fragmented photograph with a portrait of myself. I might do 2 different versions. One using mirrors and one on photoshop
The face or body of the model is visually cut up and collaged together through multiple exposures, reflections in pieces of mirror, or by chemical manipulations in the printing.

My response
I am planning to respond to this work by using photoshop to take apart photos of myself and putting them together. I will take photos of myself from different angles then and print them in black and white. After this i will then combine them in photoshop and use a scalpel to make another one on paper.
Fragmentations portraits
Using the images from my previous work I want experiment with making fragmented portraits by hand using a scalpel to cut up a few specific parts of my face and and reorder in a distorted way to make me look different.
Experiment 1
I have used the same photographs that i took of myself before. I printed with different colours and ripped them and then put them together.
Experiment 2
I have created a fragmented portrait of myself using some tools in photo shop. I chose 3 photographs to fragment then i put them in on different layers and erased some shapes on different layers so you can see all the photographs in one picture as you can see in the photo on the left. I like how this experiment turned out because it fits my theme fragmented portraits and didnt take that long to do.
Experiment 3
Here i have created a fragmented portrait. I used 2 photos of myself and cut one up into little strips and placed them in a random way onto a full face portrait of myself.
